About the Artist
(1909 - 1994)
Georges Spiro was a Polish-French painter, who worked primarily in gouache. His surrealist works were shown in Germany, France, England, and New York. In 1952 Dior de la Souchère, curator of the Musée Grimaldi in Antibes, bought some of works Spiro's paintings at the Revue Surrealiste. Six years later, at the Biennale de Menton, Spiro was awarded the third prize.
