William Frej’s  most recent book, Seasons of Ceremonies: Rites and Rituals in Guatemala and Mexico, continues to  win a number of awards, including the 2022 Photography Book of The Year from both the Independent Press Awards and the Next Generation Indie Book Awards (NGIBA). 

The book was also announced last week as a finalist for Book of the Year from Foreword Indies.

The book has won the following awards: 

Bronze Medal: Photography Books, Tokyo International Foto Awards

Silver Medal: Photography Books/People, Budapest International Photography Awards

2022 Photography Book of the Year, Independent Press Awards

2022 Photography Book of the Year Winner, Next Generation Indie Book Awards

Finalist, National Indie Excellence® Awards

 Frej’s previous book,  Maya Ruins Revisited: In the Footsteps of Teobert Maler, has won thirteen awards.
