Orlin Baker was born in Kansas and spent most of his life in the Midwest. Baker was a printmaker who worked in drypoint, etching, aquatint, lithography and linocut. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and in California with printmaker Howell Brown.

Baker’s work is scarce and this vibrant color linocut here is a compelling example of his southwestern work.
