The New Mexico native artist and santera is known for her colorful, charming retablos. Martinez Yates was born in Gallup, NM in 1940. Her retablos don the Chapel de las Golodrinas in Santa Fe, Albuquerque International Sunport and various private collections.

Martinez Yates died in 2011 in Albuquerque, NM.
