Textile, The red and orange yarns are three-ply machine-spun knitting yarns, also known as Germantown yarns, dyed in the skein with synthetic dyes. The dark brown yarns are brown Merino fleece handspun and top-dyed in the yarn with pinon pitch. The grey yarns are un-dyed brown and un-dyed white Merino fleeces carded together and handspun to create variegated grey yarns. The white yarns are un-dyed handspun Merino fleece.
Condition is 100% original with no restorations. Less than 1% of the historic Navajo double saddle blankets in museum and private collections survived in comparable condition.
